Understanding Standard and Optional Access Methods in the Starlight Catalog
Read fingerprint, passcode, card, key and optional App entries at model level, and keep unconfirmed connectivity claims out of your order.
Read each model separately
The catalog includes different combinations of fingerprint, passcode, card and mechanical key access. A feature listed for one model should not be copied to another model without checking the corresponding page.
Compare a few clear examples
DSS500 lists fingerprint, code and key access with an optional App. C020 lists fingerprint, code, card and key access with an optional App. DS30 MINI lists code and key access with an optional App. GL001 lists fingerprint, passcode and card access for glass doors.
Ask what the App configuration includes
An optional App entry does not identify a platform, wireless protocol or remote-unlocking setup. Confirm the platform, configuration and any additional hardware relevant to your project.
Check language differences
G990 has a fingerprint entry in English that is not present in its Chinese access list. DSS700 differs on card versus key access. G990P and G000P also need passcode confirmation. Ask for a model-specific written configuration when the two language versions differ.
Connect features to your procurement request
Tell Starlight which access methods are required, which are optional, and the quantity and market for each configuration. Use the catalog and model pages as the starting point for that discussion.
